INTERSPECIES TELEPATHIC COMMUNICATOR
LAUREN BODE
Lauren Bode has always had a special affinity with animals. She grew up on a backcountry cattle ranch in South America with horses, the usual domestic pets and more exotic animals as her daily companions. Later as an international entrepreneur she travelled through five continents and for some years owned and operated her own zoo in Europe. Lauren has written humorous stories of how her children grew up in a zoo with wild animals sharing their home.
Lauren has maintained her telepathic communication abilities working with all types of animals. It is often amazing to hear the specific information that they tell her: health problems, behavioural problems, training problems, information on food and exercise preferences, opinions on family matters and gossip gathered from the people and other animals around them. Lauren's travels throughout Canada, the United States and beyond have resulted in great experiences with dogs, cats and horses; resulting in some incredible transformations in relationships between the animals and their owners. This has been a source of great satisfaction to Lauren. For more information, visit www.animaltalk.ca

BRENDA GAGNON
LAZY G RANCH
The hours we spend caring for and communicating with our equine friends are well worth the few hours we spend on their backs. There is nothing like the bond that exists between you and your horse when he greets you at his stall door with a friendly nicker and a warm velvet muzzle, or when he comes flying up to the pasture gate sounding a welcome greeting. My own romance with horses began when I was a young girl. Like many other horse crazy kids, I was always thinking and reading about them. When not pretending to be one, I was sketching them or dreaming about them. I was

fortunate enough to begin riding at the age of 16. Living in town made it impossible for me to keep a horse of my own and it wasn't until I was an adult and married that my dream of owning a horse became a reality. As my professional career accelerated, what began with one horse eventually grew into a full barn as I expanded into teaching, boarding, breeding and training my own horses and clients horses. I've made some mistakes and I have had a lot of on the job learning experiences. Due to my lifetime love for horses and many years of experience as a professional horsewoman I hope to have positively influenced others.

Presentations at CanAm 2010
Matching Your Hay to Your Horse's Needs
Through a lively discussion, participants will learn to identify the forage species commonly found in Ontario hays and the indicators for estimating the quality of the hay based on stage of maturity and the plant content . Participants will match hays to the needs of different horses based on their requirements for growth and development as well as special needs. Participants are encouraged to bring a slice of hay with them to make the discussion more relevant to their farm.
Biosecurity - Keeping Strangles and other Infections Agents out of Your Barn
Strangles is a highly contagious bacterial disease which causes depression and horses are off feed. They often have a fever of 39-39.5°C. and develop a nasal discharge, a soft cough and painful swelling between the mandibles, which progresses to an abscess. While strangles is extremely upsetting to horse owners other diseases can be more disastrous to a horse business. Among these are the neurological from of herpes virus which has been diagnosed in multiple sites across North America; piroplasmosis first diagnosed in Florida and Missouri; contagious equine metritis (CEM) which now impacts on the movement of semen and germplasm. These may seem to be far away issues but with a very mobile horse population, horse owners should institute daily biosecurity measures to prevent diseases from entering their premises. Practical protocols will be discussed for the Ontario horse and barn owner.

The philosophy of J'Equine Sport and the Equine Business Professional Membership: We believe that the people and businesses working in the equine community are there because of a passion for horses and a desire to help others who share that passion. Too many businesses in the equine community are under recognized for the high quality services and products they provide. "Consumers want some assurance and are looking for proven equine services."
JEQUINESPORT.COM is more than a directory of rated equine services or an accreditation. We are involved in the horse community in sponsorship, rider presentation, consulting, education for new owners and general good will among other things. We have achieved various credentials proving ourselves to be ethical and honest in our dealings.
Topic for discussion: How many times have you been dissatisfied with an equine service or better yet how many times were you afraid to ask questions or make suggestions for fear of being shun or worried that they would "take it out on the horse"? That is ridiculous!!!! Who has what credential and are they the right fit for your needs...these are things every consumer should know when looking for and enlisting the services of any equine service.
The need for quality of horsemanship can be and needs to be improved through knowledge....first you have to know what questions to ask!... Questions are asked on our web site for each new listing in the directory and they are the questions that are rated by YOU for YOU!!!
